SPECIAL POPULATIONS GUIDELINES

Clients with special needs are accepted based on our ability to serve those needs.  The hearing and visually impaired are accepted on their ability to move freely within the physical facility without danger to themselves or others. Clients with diagnosed mental illnesses or psychological disorders will need a special plan to assure that he is complying with medication recommendations and is under the care of a licensed mental health professional and is no danger to himself or others.

Residents with special needs must be able to fulfill the same expectations as a non-special needs resident.

In order for a person who is HIV positive or who has active Hepatitis to be admitted, the client should not require nursing care beyond what is usually available to other persons in the program, and should be able to comply with all infection control procedures.

ALTERNATIVE HOUSING

If space cannot be provided for potential clients who do not need family housing, IAGW will provide referrals to other appropriate housing in the nearby area.  Also, clients with families will be assisted to find housing in the area near the IN A GOOD WAY facility.
